Several cups of coffee AND tea [I’m an ‘ambidextrous drinker’] later, and enough charge in the battery to use my drill, I think I am ready. I’ve been up and down the stool and chair, measuring, marking, moving them over and doing it again umpty times. [If you are of the WAY younger persuasion, umpty means LOTS.] The most amazing thing during all of this navigation was that the phone did not ring, not even once. That alone should have been a sign that all would go well, because it has a knack of ringing when my hands are wet, or holding something with two that I really needed three for, or … well you can imagine. On the other hand, I didn’t even think about it until I was done.
Brackets in place, and YES the rod still fits! Lower one end, slide on the middle bracket, and the curtain for that side. Replace. Do the same for the other end. Put the fancy finials on. Back to the middle, line up the bracket and fasten it firmly. Wow, it actually works! Get the stool and chair and tools all out of the way. Put the tools back where they belong. Vacuum again and reposition the chest and TV. Ponder it a bit… yes it actually looks the way I hoped it would.
Except for the missing shelf. There will be a shelf on the top of those brackets, I just have not made it yet. That will be a nice weather, when I can get to the board stash and do it outside kind of job. Doubtless another story ….
Oh, wondering what that all had to do with having company and Facebook? Not having an interesting status, in fact most of the time no status at all, I posted that I had replaced living room curtains, rod and all. One of my sisters asked for a picture. Instead of sending it direct, I posted it on Facebook. Only a few hours later my neighbor called and asked if she could come take a look because they are planning a new look in their house! Well, who knew?
